Do you have what it takes to guide men to critically reflect on their behaviour, attitudes and beliefs? We are looking for a Court and Intake Worker with a person-centred approach to men who have used violence, abuse and control tactics in relationships.

You will work alongside men to increase their knowledge of the court process and understand their domestic violence order. You will also provide appropriate referrals including to YFS’ Responsible Men intervention program, to enhance safety and accountability, and achieve positive behavioural change.

About the job

  • Role location: Slacks Creek
  • Role type: Part time 30hrs week, maximum term until 30 June 2024
  • Pay range: $82,306 (pro rata) a year with salary sacrificing available

In this role, you will:

  • attend the Beenleigh Magistrates Court and provide respondents who attend for domestic violence with information on court processes, domestic violence orders and conditions, and the Responsible Men program
  • provide information about and referrals for other related issues, such as mental health, drug and alcohol services, parenting, financial, employment support, legal, and other counselling needs
  • provide intake and risk assessment for men referred to the Responsible Men program with a clear focus on the safety of women and children, upheld through perpetrator accountability
  • work closely with Behaviour Change Facilitators and Women’s Advocates to enable on-going assessment of risk and safetybenefit from working in an innovative team, with a strong practice framework that increases safety for women and children and holds men accountable for violent and abusive behaviours.
