Job Summary
Applies credentialing policy knowledge to follow processes for maintaining department credentialing and licensure. Serves as day-to-day administrative support for the medical services office. Applies knowledge of provider enrollment and regulations to coordinate physician and non-physician health plan enrollment. Serves as liaison between providers and health plans to ensure timely processing.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

Department Description
The Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) has policy oversight for credentialing and privileging of health care providers, reporting obligations to state/federal licensing boards, and the affiliated community partner groups in the physician network on behalf of the UCSF Health System. We enroll providers with our contracted health plans and are instrumental in the health system’s billing and revenue operations. In coordination with the UCSF Office of Legal Affairs, OMAG is also responsible for all medical staff peer review investigations.

Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
License/Certification
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) within 18 months of hire from OMAG required to meet performance expectations of role.
