What you will do:

  • As a Credit Risk Assurance Manager for Private Banking at Metro Bank you will be overseeing all Retail and Commercial lending activities within the team to ensure the right policies are adhered to
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of team Credit Stewardship tasks through monthly monitoring and controls
  • Perform Quality Control / Quality Assurance reviews of all Retail and Commercial lending facilities drawn in Private Banking and document any remediation action required
  • Ensure all Retail lending facilities are approved in line with policy (MBPOL25) and internal procedures
  • Maintain the database of Retail lending facilities for Private Banking and report Retail lending testing results to the Director of Private Banking and Retail Credit Risk Managers monthly
  • Provide the team with regular updates and reminders in order to ensure that outstanding Credit Stewardship is completed within a timely manner to avoid any overdue tasks, alerts covenants or reviews
  • Manage the teams arrears list (Power BI) by sending regular updates to the team and liaising with Relationship Managers to action any arrears handovers to Collections team
  • Deal with adhoc requests for support from the Private Banking team including bump ups around systems and processes, and adhoc reviews and lending queries
  • Provide guidance and training to colleagues at all levels to address any identified gaps

What you will need:

  • You must have Prior experience of process improvement in an operational environment
  • You must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, especially producing reports, confidently recommending actions to colleagues, at all levels across the bank
  • You must have good working knowledge of the internal and external regulatory, compliance and control standards
  • You must have a good understanding of the systems required for planning, initiating, and conducting internal credit and risk control mechanism including periodic file checks, periodic reviews, data integrity on T24, CRM and CRGA
  • You must understand Metro Bank’s Commercial and Retail lending policies MBPOL25 and MBPOL27
  • Experience of both personal and commercial lending, ideally with first-hand experience in Metro Bank lending operations and/or proven and successful track record in a Private Banking or Commercial Banking role
  • Ability to investigate and report findings with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Demonstrable leadership/mentoring qualities (to coach, develop, and influence a range of colleagues across the team)
  • Level 2 sign off for Business Account Opening
  • Exposure to risk and control monitoring and testing
