The purpose and role of the Stakeholder and Design Coordinator Consultant is to support and assist with the coordination of the implementation of the CRGG Phase 1 on stakeholder consultations and design of the IDD. The consultant will support the design of the CRGG IDD by assisting with the Project Team with desk review, research, organizing stakeholder consultations and engagement, preparing meeting summary notes, logistical and administrative matters and reporting writing and assisting with preparing PowerPoint presentations.
The Consultation and Design Coordinator Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Support the development of a comprehensive project work plan and timeline, including milestones, deliverables, and key deadlines, and oversee the monitoring and timely execution of project tasks, timely updates and reporting.
- Support the Project Team undertake the desk review and research on the climate resilience and green growth situation in the Solomon Islands and the preparation of the desk review report.
- Organize the facilitate stakeholder consultations/meetings (including with the provinces) and focal group discussions including sending out meeting invitations and reminders, arranging meeting venues and logistics, and preparing the meeting summary notes and support the compilation of the final stakeholder consultation report.
- Support Team coordination, administration and logistics especially the planning and arrangement of team transportation and travel outside of Honiara.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including support for the compilation of project reports including the GEDSI assessment and analysis and final IDD, and meeting minutes and summary notes.
- Monitor and identify potential project risks and advise the Project Team on appropriate mitigation strategies and contingency plans and responses.
Expertise Required:
The consultant must meet the following requirements:
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in climate change, social sciences, development studies, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in climate change and adaptation, social and community development, and project management, development policy and planning, preferably in the context of climate resilience and green growth projects.
- Proven experience in conducting research, surveys, climate and social analysis and developing strategies and action plans.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.
- Knowledge of the socio-cultural and economic context of the Solomon Islands or similar Pacific Island contexts is an advantage.
- Ability to produce high-quality reports and deliverables in English and proficient in word and Microsoft tools including excel and PowerPoint.
