Job Summary:
You will assist project implementation by working directly with local partners and community members, coordinating various project activities and events in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work to serve the poor and vulnerable. Your service and community relations skills ensure that the local partners and communities feed into and benefit from the project that consistently applies best practices and continuously works towards improving its impact.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
Review and validate supporting documentation before processing financial transactions to ensure all required documents are accurate and complete and authorizations are in place.
Help ensure maintenance of all data required for processing financial transactions for assigned accounts in Insight financial accounting package.
Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations. Review various accounts to detect irregularities.
Help evaluate subrecipient financial management processes in accordance with policy and help strengthen capacity of partner in financial accounting and transactions.
Prepare delegated financial reports, as needed,
Help share information with subrecipients and staff on financial accounting policies and procedural compliance issues.
Assess, evaluate and monitor subrecipient financial management processes in accordance with policy and strengthen the capacity of partner in financial accounting and transactions.
Prepare various periodic and ad hoc financial reports and perform variance analysis to assist project/grant staff with decision-making. Assist with budget maintenance for proper management of financial resources.
Monitor disbursement/receipt schedules, alert relevant project/grant staff of due payments/liquidations, and maintain appropriate communication and follow-up to facilitate timeliness of financial resource management and compliance with set deadlines.

Required Languages – English and Hausa
Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 90 %.
Location – The position is based in Sokoto, Sokoto State.

Basic Qualifications
B.A. degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration strongly preferred.
Courses in accounting, or a qualification in accounting (CPA/ACCA/ICAN or equivalent) is preferred.
Minimum of two years accounting experience, preferably 3 years continuous experience in an INGO.

CRS offers are contingent on the selected candidate’s ability to legally work where the position is to be performed. Every government has a unique set of work permit eligibility requirements. All positions requiring residence or frequent travel outside a home country must undergo and clear a pre-employment medical clearance; some work permit processes require clearing a separate government administered medical examination.
CRS prioritizes candidates who are citizens/ permanent residents of the countries where we have CRS offices.
