Job Description

In Italy and Germany, IRC focuses on protection, economic well-being, education, and empowerment, and is currently implementing an AMIF-funded project on anti-trafficking.
Context of the Assignment
The DIRECT project (Develop Coordination with migrants to Enhance inclusion of Trafficked Persons) aims at facilitating the early identification of victims of trafficking in persons and increasing prevention through collaboration with migrant-led organizations, as well as promoting the integration of third-country national victims of trafficking. The project is implemented in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Greece.
As part of the DIRECT project, in Italy, IRC will conduct group life skills and anti-trafficking sessions for unaccompanied minors in Sicily. The goal is to support minors in developing personal and social skills to cope positively with daily life and reduce risks.
We are looking for one Cultural Mediator (Bengali speaker) to support the Case Worker in the facilitation of the life skills sessions in Campobello di Mazara, Sicily, by providing cultural mediation in Bengali language.

The main responsibilities of the Cultural Mediator will include:
•- Provide Bengali cultural mediation during life skills sessions in Campobello di Mazara, Sicily.
•- Facilitate the interaction between participants and the Case Worker.
Job Requirements:
•Fluency in spoken Bengali, English and Italian
•Previous experience in cultural mediation/interpretation.
•Predisposed to teamwork.
•Excellent communication and relational skills.
•Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC Italy.
•Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies
•Based in Sicily.
