Curriculum Officer (The Medicine Program Redesign Project)

  • Employment Type: Full – time (35 hours a week)
  • Duration: 2-Year Fixed Term
  • Remuneration: $96K – $103K base (+ 17% Superannuation and leave loading)
  • Visa: Full working rights for the duration of the contract will be required
  • Location: Kensington, Sydney (Flexible working with some onsite days required)

Why this role matters  

The Medicine Program Redesign (MPR) project is undertaking a major review of the 6-year undergraduate Medicine Program; Redesigning the undergraduate medicine curriculum represents a significant opportunity for the faculty to align current offerings with industry best practice and distinguish itself as a leading health education provider; project is in high-level design and is reviewing the current curriculum and defining changes for the future.

The Curriculum Officer plays a key role on the Medicine Program Redesign (MPR) project in providing practical and efficient curriculum support for key stakeholders in curriculum mapping. The role will work closely with the Academic Development Lead and other faculty stakeholders to ensure quality curriculum development for the Medicine Program Redesign project. With direction from the Academic Leads, the Curriculum Officer will be responsible for the curriculum mapping, maintaining assurance of quality learning and assessment and transitioning from the current to the future medicine program. The role is integral in assisting the MPR project to ensure changes to curriculum are high quality, timely and to the benefit of students.

Who you are:

  • Completion of a relevant degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in using a Curriculum Mapping System (or similar) to build, maintain and report data.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to process large amounts of data accurately.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communications skills including the ability to clearly communicate trends in data and create reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with relevant higher education legislative requirements, standards and trends.
  • Collaborates, communicates and works effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders in curriculum development and renewal process.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise informed judgement and analytical skills.
  • Informed problem-solving skills, with recognition of when to seek advice from supervisors.
