About The Role

Deaf Connect is looking for Customer Bookings Officers provide high quality customer service and interpreter booking services. As a Customer Bookings Officer you will be responsible for high quality customer service with the focus of delivering information access to Deaf, Deafblind and Hard of Hearing people.   

The role is fast paced whereby you will following established processes ensuring timely and accurate administration and allocation of interpreter bookings is achieved. If you are passionate about delivering high quality customer service and have great communication skills we would encourage you to apply! 

Main responsibilities of the role include: 

  • Allocate interpreter requests to permanent and casual interpreters
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers as to the timing of appointments
  • Provide advice, education and instruction on interpreter booking procedures to new clients
  • Answer and respond to all phone calls, emails and online requests in a professional and timely manner

  • Highly developed engagement and communication skills which demonstrate an ability to liaise with staff and customers
  • Proven ability to meet targets and deadlines and juggle competing priorities

  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Positive and flexible attitude.

You should also let us know if you have these other great skills: 

  • Knowledge of the Deaf community, language and culture
  • Experience or knowledge in the organisation and the interpreting industry
  • Auslan skills.
