MSF France has had a significance presence in Kenya since 1996. In Homa Bay, MSF France partners with the County Health Government to improve the continuum of care for HIV, Chronic Diseases and Covid 19. Currently, MSF France manages 90 beds in the adult internal medicine and TB wards in the Homa Bay County Teaching Referral Hospital to improve management of adults’ patients hospitalized and is developing and strengthening a simplified and decentralized model of chronic disease care at Primary Health Centre while supporting Differentiated Models of Care. In 2023, MSF France will implement a palliative care package that includes integrated community-based home care. Mental health and psycho-social support as well as community and patient engagement are essential components of our patient centered approach to care.
MSF France Mathare Project is looking to fill the position of Daily worker/ Locum Electrician. The successful candidate reports to the Base Logistics Supervisor.
Main purpose of the Position:
Performing autonomously, complex / advanced installation and maintenance of electrical and other energy systems in all MSF facilities across the mission (offices, health structures, warehouses, etc, according to MSF standards and procedures, in order to ensure proper functioning and maintenance of MSF equipment and installations
Accountabilities:
- Ensuring all electrical installations in MSF facilities comply with MSF standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions. This includes the following tasks
- Keeping working area clean and tidy.Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepare needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.
- Perform corrective maintenance of household electrical appliances in Mathare project and Coordination premises, under the guidance of Mathare Biomed Electrical Technician/ Mission Energy Biomed Specialist and according to MSF electrical standards.
- Perform any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
- Look after all equipment and tools provided, and return them in a timely manner.
- Immediately inform Mathare Base Logistician/ Coordination Base Logistician and Mathare Biomed Electrical Technician/Mission Energy Biomed Specialist of any problems that arise in the course of the work in MSF premises, particularly about damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Essential Electrician diploma or recognized formal training
Experience
- Previous working experience as an electrician required (minimum 2 years’ experience)
