Join Practice Plus Group Hospital, Birmingham, as a Data Analyst and play a key role in the smooth running of our operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the Information Service at our new hospital in Edgbaston, set to open to NHS and private patients in September 2024. As part of a dynamic team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring data integrity, delivering robust analysis, and supporting management decisions with insightful reporting.As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Lead on the preparation of operational and performance management reports for key stakeholders, including CCGs and NHS Trusts.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data quality, working closely with sub-contractors and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing through proper data management.
  • Provide trend, benchmarking, and modelling information to support strategic decisions.
  • Be a reference point for national and local data standards.

You’ll be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and working closely with the hospital team, ensuring the data we collect is reliable, accurate, and valuable in driving our success.What you’ll be doingKey Responsibilities

  • Leading the preparation of reports for external stakeholders and commissioners.
  • Ensuring compliance with data quality and security standards.
  • Supporting site data champions to improve data entry and collection practices.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all data quality and reporting queries within the hospital.

What we’ll look for in youWe are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant degree or advanced qualifications in data analysis or a related field.
  • Experience in SQL environments and advanced skills in Access, Excel (including pivot tables), and SQL Server.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex data sets, ensuring accuracy and quality.

Desirable:

  • Experience in healthcare data quality or NHS statutory returns.
  • Knowledge of NCRS or similar high-level data systems.
