Organizational Setting
The position is located in FAO Islamabad Office, Pakistan. The main aim of the FAO country office, which is headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
The position is envisaged at SB3-SC 6 level
Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of M&E Officer/Head of Knowledge Management, and collaboration with the project manager 10 Billion Tree Project, the Information Management Associate will undertake the following duties:
Tasks and responsibilities
• Assist in designing the tools for assessment, developing/programming the tools using KOBO, sampling of the areas, preparation of presentations and assessment reports.
• Assist in developing training materials and co-facilitate enumerators training sessions, field testing and monitoring of fieldwork.
• Assist in coordinating the collection and analysis of household and community level food security and livelihood assessments data, cleaning and management.
• Assist in coordinating with Government, line departments at federal and provincial level and other stakeholders including NGOs.
• Contribute to communicating the assessment findings and reports to other actors and stakeholders.
• Assist in collecting the secondary data on vulnerability, general socio-economic profiles, food prices, agricultural inputs prices, international trade and other agriculture statistics.
• Contribute to conducting the impact evaluation, analysis for MEAL, Resilience Index Measurement and Analysis (RIMA), and carrying out other related technical studies.
• Assist in conducting the IPC analysis workshops and preparation of IPC reports/briefs.
• Prepare different documents (e.g. Reports, Correspondence, Agendas, Minutes, and Event Programs etc.) for activities of Information Management Unit.
• Assist in scheduling different types of activities (e.g. Meetings, Training/Workshops/Seminars) of Information Management Unit.
• Structure the data/information according to the FAO requirement.
• Performing any other relevant tasks related to data analysis.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• Advanced university degree in statistics, economics, econometrics or agricultural economics;
• Minimum of 5 years of proven knowledge and experience in data analysis of assessments and programme evaluation;
• Working knowledge of English;
• National of Pakistan.

• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of agriculture, food security and livelihoods in the context of Pakistan.
• Experience or familiarity with programme evaluation, food security and livelihoods assessments methodologies, including surveillance or monitoring systems, agricultural production assessment, market analysis etc.
• Experience in survey design, sampling, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation for assessment processes in agriculture and food security.
• Expertise in remote data collection including phone or web-based surveys would be a plus.
• Working knowledge of advanced statistics with ability to use statistical software packages (in particular SPSS and/or STATA).
• Experience in using and programming questionnaires in digital data collection tools (Kobo toolbox, ODK).
• Proven data visualization and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Coordination skills with strong individual planning capacity.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum guidance.
