Overview: International Business and Technical Consultants, Inc. (IBTCI), a US-based international development consulting company, seeks a Data Analyst to support monitoring and evaluation efforts. The incumbent will collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform programmatic decisions and enhance project outcomes. The ideal candidate should possess a strong statistical or research methods background, with prior experience in humanitarian or development settings. Proficiency in English and French is preferred, alongside excellent writing skills.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and organize data from diverse sources, including surveys, assessments, and program reports.
- Conduct statistical analysis and data visualization to uncover trends, patterns, and insights aligned with project objectives.
- Present findings and recommendations to project teams, stakeholders, and donors through various mediums.
- Collaborate with project staff to design and implement data collection tools and methodologies, ensuring data integrity.
- Support monitoring and evaluation activities, including baseline surveys, mid-term evaluations, and endline assessments.
- Develop and maintain databases and data management systems to track project indicators, outputs, and outcomes.
- Provide technical assistance and training on data collection, analysis, and reporting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and ethical standards throughout data management and analysis processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, research methods, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles within humanitarian or development settings.
- Fluency in English and French languages preferred.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to be mobile and agile at a moment’s notice in case of an emergency required.
- Ability and willingness to work for extended periods in insecure and diverse environments.
- Ability and willingness to safely enter and exit a larger, armored SUV vehicle that is several feet off the ground without assistance, while wearing body armor and/or a heavy flak jacket.
- In case of an emergency situation, must be able and willing to “duck and seek cover”, which may require the individual to exit the vehicle, unaided, and hurriedly seek shelter elsewhere, as needed, in the event of a roadside emergency.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, research methods, or related field.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of humanitarian and development principles, practices, and frameworks.
- Familiarity with UNICEF program areas and initiatives, particularly in relevant sectors.
- Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) software and spatial analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of qualitative research methods and data collection techniques.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
