The National Park Service Alaska Fire Ecology program will host multiple Scientists in Parks (SIP) intern positions this coming winter season. Three positions will be focused on working with data to summarize, analyze and visualize data related to fire ecology project and management of fire in Alaska.

Specifically, the interns will be tasked with the following:

• Natural Resource Management Asst./Archivist: archive, catalog, and showcase via GIS web app the extensive network of fire ecology monitoring projects and monitoring data collected.
• Natural Resource Management Asst./Data Analyst: streamline the analysis of datasets for quick applications; produce standardized data summaries and graphs for use in annual reporting.
• Ecology Assistant/Data Visualist: produce fire statistics graphics and summaries for multiple park units and reports.
