The Data Integrity Officer is responsible for improving the quality of Miwatj data on Communicare, especially related to COVID-19 vaccinations, pandemic and outbreak preparedness, chronic care recall and referral catch-up, accurate patient biographics and ensuring data is reported quickly and accurately to the Australian Immunisation Register. The position plays a key role in identifying and rectifying issues, recommending enhancements, and developing reports and audits.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling YolÅ‹u powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The Data Integrity Officer will be responsible to improve the quality and accuracy of data, especially related to COVID-19 vaccinations and National Immunisation Program vaccinations (NIP), chronic disease and patient biographic data held in the Miwatj health information system (Communicare).
This role undertake consultation/ liaison and desktop review to identify long standing areas of clinical risk, this will include the development of processes to review and manage overdue recalls due to un-actioned or not used recall lists within Miwatj health information system (Communicare).
Candidates must have current Registration and Practicing Certificate as Registered Nurse through AHPRA and will also have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings.
