Role Purpose
Your role will be to help the Head of Implementation organize, manage, and store data effectively for the “Barranquilla Bilinge” project, ensuring high level information for successful delivery and project outcomes. The person in this role must guarantee that all their activities align with British Council policies, partner strategic goals, and national regulations.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following

  • Designs and implements data systems, establishing data quality standards, and developing strategies for effective data management for the different components of the project.
  • Develops and implements data collection, analysis, and reporting tools and protocols for various components of “Barranquilla Bilinge,” ensuring consistent use throughout the project’s duration.
  • Manages or develops tools for the enrolment and follow up of beneficiaries, efficient information management and the timely production of reports.
  • Oversees a virtual platform in collaboration with a selected vendor, facilitating the generation of comprehensive reports on participants’ course progress. This management involves incorporating input from Technical Leads and integrating recommendations from the 2023-24 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) report.
  • Collaborates with Operations Managers to enrol teachers in Basic and Advanced Courses, ensuring the achievement of registration targets.
  • Assists in procurement processes related to the selection of providers relevant to this role. This includes the creation of Terms of Reference, among other responsibilities.
  • Leads the collection and systematization of relevant information including registration, login reports, signed commitments letters from teachers, course completion certificates and any related documents as required by the British Council and stakeholders.
  • Offers timely and pertinent insights derived from data pertaining the project, which can be presented in different formats, including analytical reports, presentations, technical documents, academic materials, amongst others.
  • Organises and regularly updates databases, projecting various learning scenarios to inform decision-making on aspects such as the provision of face-to-face support with travel implications, distribution, and incentives.
  • Design a monitoring scheme to track the progress of beneficiaries based on predefined indicators. This scheme should include the generation of reports that can be analysed to extract valuable insights for the project.
  • Ensure quality feedback is captured, reviewed, and used to inform decision making. This should be done in accordance with corporate Reference Evidence Framework.
  • Provides essential data showcasing the project’s impact for use in both internal and external communication, by the British Council and its partners.

Requirements of the role

  • At least five years of experience in information management within the context of projects in the educational sector.
  • Experience in statistical and mathematical analysis, using tools or advanced data analysis software (3 years).
  • Experience using tools for data management and analysis, including, but no limited to, Google sheets, microsoft excel, airtable, Trello, Google or Microsoft Forms, CRM, amongst other data analysis software.
  • Experience visualizing data through tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms.
  • Experience managing databases (Always ensuring compliance with data protection regulations), including SQL, and ability to work with large and complex data sets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, computer science, data analytics, education, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in a closely related field. The absence of a postgraduate qualification may be considered equivalent to an additional 2 years of work experience to the experience, meeting the experience requirement.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English at B2 level is required.
