Summary of Job Duties:
The Data Science Graduate Grant Research Assistant will serve in a supporting role for the NSF EPSCoR DART education theme and is expected to help the project with scheduling and administration of meetings, conducting research, participating in data science teaching workshops across the state of Arkansas, collecting data, and other duties as assigned. The Research Assistant will be expected to have weekly touchpoint meetings with the education theme lead to update them on next steps needed for the project. In this role, the candidate will be expected to help drive initiatives, solve complex problems, and contribute to the overall success of the grant. The Research Assistant will be required to comply with all federal and state guidelines as dictated by the NSF EPSCoR DART program.
Some travel may be required throughout the course of this appointment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution
Admitted or are currently a graduate student at the University of Arkansas
Must be in good academic and judicial standing with the University of Arkansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Have programming experience in Python and/or R, Tableau and/or Power BI
Must have previously completed Calculus I and/or Calculus II or equivalent
Experience working with faculty & administrators in academia or management executives in a business environment
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA’s):
Must be detail oriented and a good communicator
Excellent presentation skills
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty
Critical thinking skills including the ability to analyze information, data and evaluate options to make informed decisions
Proficient in all Microsoft office products
