Friends of the Earth is looking for a Database Administration Officer to work alongside our Database Coordinator and maintain our NationBuilder database and the functionality of our digital campaign asset used by our campaigners to advance social and environmental justice issues. If you love data and drilling into the backend detail then this role may be for you.

Role Overview

Title: Database Administration Officer (backfill role)

Hours: 3 days/ 24 hours per week (0.6FTE)

Location: 312 Smith Street, Collingwood, Victoria

Contract: 12 months – fixed term

Salary: $88,712 per annum, pro rata, plus superannuation and entitlements

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Administration of digital assets

  • Administration of G-Suite
  • Administration of our Nationbuilder assets
  • Administration and support of domains and website activity across the network
  • Administration of digital tools such as Canva, Do Gooder, Bitwarden, CallHub etc
  • Administration of Meta Suite, FaceBook Ads

Maintaining Data flows

  • Ensuring communication and data flows between finance and supporter database is maintained
  • Working with the FoEA Database Coordinator and Finance Officers to identify solutions to data flow issues
  • Working with National Liaisons Convenor and where appropriate NLO’s to identify areas where most support needed around digital assets
  • Maintaining Zapier integrations – Review Zapier Task History and Error Reports and take necessary steps to rectify
  • Administration and support of data-source platforms and digital assets such as G-Suite, Domains, other digital campaigning platforms (DoGooder, CallHub) such as petition archiving and list cleaning
  • Update data cleaning procedures & other manuals when necessary
  • In conjunction with the Database Coordinator develop online tools to support communication strategies and organisational objectives.

Monitor and maintain FoEM & FoEA’s NationBuilder database and functionality

  • Monitoring and optimising the performance of the database
  • Modifying the database structure, i.e., Tag Structure, Pathways, Saved Filters, Subscriptions & Memberships when necessary
  • Monitoring and clearing data replication
  • Backing up and restoring databases & maintaining archived data
  • Maintaining the health of our email lists
  • Provide support for member groups with NationBuilder accounts Currently FoE Melbourne, GECO, Healthy Futures (healthy futures), StopAdani, Sapna. Including digital campaign support and onboarding for staff and volunteers into digital assets and troubleshooting with assets and data management
  • Contacting database vendor for technical support (on request from the network, identify issues and report, implement solutions as required)

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in CRM management using NationBuilder
  • Experience in administering G Suite, Meta Suite and Facebook Ads
  • Experience in administering digital campaign tools such as Canva, DoGooder and/or other petition and fundraising platforms
  • A commitment to environmental and social justice
  • Experience working with diverse communities and/or those affected by climate change or environmental injustice
  • Ability to work independently and to deadlines

Timing of Interviews and Commencement of Role

This role is essentially a backfill position as our Database Coordinator drops down to 1 day a week over the next 12 months.

We are hoping to interview candidates for this role on Thurs/Friday the 26th and 27th of September 2024.

The aim would be to have a person in the role by early October 2024.
