Planning and Knowledge Management:
To collect, organize, store, and analyze medical education and institutional data, providing timely reporting and analytics to support decision-making.
The Opportunity:
The Database Administrator I is part of the UCF College of Medicine’s Office of Knowledge Management and Analytics (KMA) Report team and reports to the manager of application systems. The team is critical in supporting the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of various college reports critical to our organization’s operations. This position is tasked with ensuring the integrity and reliability of College of Medicine’s reporting flow.
Responsibilities:

Participates in the design, development and/or selection of data-related systems, processes, and approaches for units and projects in the College of Medicine.

Participates in the design, development, and maintenance of the COM Knowledge Management architecture and related systems, including the COM KMA database and applications, specifically including the college assessment and curriculum databases.

Works with the KMA, PKM, HealthIT, and other COM personnel on the data reporting, analysis, and integration needs of the college, including direct assistance to other PKM and COM units upon appropriate request.

Provides guidance and advice on the design, development, and maintenance of reporting and data analysis tools and techniques, including direct assistance developing and using those techniques upon appropriate request.

Works with KM and other units on the recommendation, selection, design, development, and maintenance of data reporting, analysis, and integration tools and techniques for use with COM’s educational, assessment, and decision-support data systems, considering COM and University policies and procedures.

Assists as requested on an ad hoc basis by providing reporting, data analysis, and expertise regarding COM technological projects and issues, both within KM and, upon appropriate request, to other PKM and COM units.

Promotes the COM KM vision through publication, participation in professional journals and conferences, and grant proposals.

Stays abreast of BI products/tools, future features, and of business strategies and direction.

Performs additional duties as assigned including, but not limited to, timely completion of all required university and college training and updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6) .
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Knowledge of best practices in coding systems such as SSRS, Power BI, Excel, and Office 365.

Knowledge of data analysis.

Knowledge and experience with data molding.

Knowledge and use of Visual Studio.

Ability to solve complex problems and identify alternative solutions when the primary solution does not work.
