Introduction : Description: In 2024, UNDP is planning to organize Room XX Debate under the theme “Cultural relativism and rights-based approach” to facilitate debate on different issues, with a particular focus on topics related to justice, trial, and punishment. The theme aims to raise awareness and encourage critical thinking about the interaction between universal rights and cultural practices, serving as a backdrop for debate particularly on fair trial rights and alternative approaches to justice and criminal justice responses. A debate tournament organized on this topic could empower youth to meaningfully engage in societal debate on related issues.
