How you’ll make a difference

As Delivery Project Manager you will deliver a new 3-year project for the restoration and
enhancement of Kingswood Park, forming the green ‘heart’ of Kingswood. In the role the focus
will be on providing a green space where people can come together to enjoy high quality
facilities and participate in events, in a relaxing and welcoming environment. This role will
include project managing the delivery of improvements, including a new accessible/Changing
Places toilet facility, a new refreshment area, restoration of the heritage features within the
park and a landscape improvement plan including making space more accessible.

South Gloucestershire Council has secured delivery phase funding from The National Lottery
Heritage Fund (the Heritage Fund) to progress our plans for the restoration and enhancement
Kingswood Park in South Gloucestershire. The Heritage Fund grant awarded is £2,671,735, with a
total project delivery cost of £3,360,857 over 3 years. 

What will you be doing?

  • On a daily basis you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all projects
    identified in our 3-year Heritage Fund delivery work programme for Kingswood Park, within
    timeframes and to budget.
  • You will have direct line management for the Park Activities Delivery Officer and Health
    & Wellbeing Activities Officer, and also have oversight of the park apprentice role.
  • In the role you will be working closely with a wide variety of design consultants,
    contractors, partner organisations, community representatives, residents and local businesses,
    in the delivery of the Kingswood Park delivery programme.
  • It will be your responsibility to manage all associated project budget control,
    communications, and reporting to the Heritage Fund, throughout the delivery phase of the
    project.
  • A focus of the project will be that delivery is environmentally sustainable, with the aim
    for the future management of the park to be carbon neutral. 
  • You will work closely with the Friends of Kingswood Park and wider Kingswood community and
    be accountable to the project delivery steering group, to ensure relationships and efficient
    and effective delivery.
  • You will appoint and oversee an Evaluation Consultant to work alongside the wider project
    delivery team, who will monitor and record outputs against identified participant targets,
    ensuring positive and lasting change.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you are educated to degree level, or have equivalent relevant
    experience in Project Management, Heritage, Landscape Architecture, and also have
    post-qualification experience of delivering construction, landscape and environmental projects.
  • You will have experience in a multidiscipline project-based role that has involved working
    with architects, structural engineers, landscape architects, design consultants, contractors
    and community groups, covering a variety of design disciplines.
  • We require you to demonstrate experience of co-ordinating and delivering programmes,
    projects and budgets, procurement and contract management within set timescales, whilst
    ensuring clearly defined outcomes are met.
  • You must have experience of financial reporting, evaluation, maintaining records and
    budgets, and have experience of grant monitoring and submitting funding claims.
  • You will be able to present technical information at meetings and consultations, to
    potentially non-technical audiences, including a wide range of community groups, volunteers,
    staff and organisations.

This 3 year full time role is funded by the Heritage Fund grant awarded for Kingswood Park. We are open to a discussion for the suitability of a job share / flexible working. 

The role is suitable for office/home working and will require regular delivery on site in Kingswood. 

A driving licence and transport is essential. Interviews will take place on the weeks of 11th and 18th March 2024.
