Better Health Network has an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated Dental Assistants with a passion to help and educate the community to improve their oral health. Joining our friendly welcoming community dental team of Dentists, Dental Therapists and Oral Health Therapist.
We are looking for a vibrant and passionate dental assistant to join our Bentleigh and outreach team on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. You will work 8am – 4.30pm Monday, Thursday Friday with a rotating roster on Tuesday and Wednesday. No weekend work is required. Our supportive administration team consists of three receptionists, a practice manager and a dental assistant team leader, which means no reception work is required.
Our team has a focus on delivering better oral health for the local community, making a real difference to our patient’s lives.
BHN Dental Service consists of a longstanding team of 80 staff members across 4 sites. Some of our dental team have been working with the local community for over 25 years. With a wealth of knowledge, support and mentoring.
As the Dental Assistant your responsibilities will include
- Provide quality collaborative chairside assistance to our dentists, dental therapists and oral health therapist.
- Maintain and implement infection control standards within the dental surgery and sterilisation bay.
- Clinic based and outreach services – Providing oral health education and promotion to our patients as required.
- Excellent time management to ensure the clinic runs to schedule. Primarily providing clinical excellence via high-quality care in the clinical setting.
- Ability and willingness to work with a range of clients to assist the general clinic as required.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to liaise with families, carers and other professionals from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
About you
- Qualified as a Dental Assistant with Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting.
- Knowledge of patient care processes, techniques and terminology within a community health environment.
- Demonstrate a high quality of patient care, positive attitude and the ability to learn.
- Well presented with a professional demeanour and able to work in a team environment.
- You will have a professional and customer service focused approach, with strong communication skills to liaise with clients.
- Previous experience with Titanium is preferred but not essential.
