• Ensure proper sterilization of instruments. For safety purposes ensure all instruments are secured within the cassette to prevent injuries. Timely delivery of dirty instruments to central sterilization and pick up of clean instruments from central sterilization. Maintain full and proper bur blocks. Ensure instruments are clean from debris prior to taking to sterilization. Ensure lab is clean and properly stocked for team and providers. Track all lab cases. Correspond with labs on cases expected. Review schedule daily to ensure we have all cases for upcoming week. Assemble sterilized cotton roll bags. Available to assist hygiene in record probing numbers for patients in Axium. Keep track of instruments to ensure return to out clinic. Communicate effectively with Central Sterilization on all questions regarding instruments.
• When assigned as rover, the Dental Assistant will monitor clinical activity as well as the patient schedule to provide back-up or assistance to dentists and primary assistants when needed. Help with restocking operatories.
• Email doctors regarding lab case questions/inquiries. Perform related clerical duties, i.e. appoint patients in computer, assist with other duties as required to maintain efficient flow of patient care.  Help the dental assistants with setting up and breaking down dental operatories.

$18.00 per hour

High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

• Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) Certification demonstrating the successful completion of training as specified in Chapter 64B5-16, Florida Administrative Code.
• Thorough knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials and procedures.
• Certification as a Dental Radiographer
