Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation providing a comprehensive range of free and low-cost health, wellbeing and community services in early childhood, youth, families, adults, aged and disability.

Covering an area of over 1700 km2 from Sunbury to beyond the borders of Macedon Ranges Shire our 280 staff and 100 volunteers are based across four sites at Kyneton, Romsey, Sunbury and Woodend.

The organisation has a proud history of delivering community health services to the region for over 40 years.

About the role:

Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health are currently seeking an experienced community minded dentist to join our team. This position present an opportunity to work within a diverse dental team, which values quality professionals and excellence in clinical care. As a clinician at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health, you will provide care to eligible public patients, improving the health of vulnerable people in the Sunbury and Macedon Ranges region.

Our team consists of Dentists, Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists and experienced Dental Assistants. Our clinic is well equipped with digital radiographs, rotary endodontic equipment, surgical handpieces, digital photography and tele-health.

Our dental clinic is located in Sunbury, on the border of Melbourne and the Hume region, close to the rolling hills of the Macedon Ranges and local wineries. It is easily accessible from both the CBD or regional towns, being connected to multiple freeways. We are part of the north-west growth corridor of Melbourne. This presents an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person interested in public health and clinical leadership to join a growing team.

About you:

  • Provide high quality direct dental care to clients in a timely manner
  • Engage in health promotion activities
  • Meet annual productivity targets
  • Maintain patient records in accordance with the Dental Board of Australia Code of Conduct
  • Act as a supervisor/mentor to employees with less experience or limited scope of practice (e.g.: Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists, level one dentists) to support all clinicians to work to their highest scope of practice
  • Play an active role in management of “Failed to Attend” bookings, with supervision if required.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and share learnings in peer review meetings

The successful candidate will be required to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History Check (NCHC), an NDIS Safety Screening check and hold a current valid Working With Children Check.
