Position Summary
Position coordinates purchasing, billing and collection activities, including maintaining statistics, records or accruals and processes expense reports.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors and purchases office supplies and lab equipment, facilitates price comparisons and maintains equipment inventory and asset records.
  • Processes receiving of division purchase orders and approval of documents.
  • Maintains division funds and accounts, assigning account numbers to orders ensuring compliance with granting agency guidelines, using Financial system, AFMS or similar systems.
  • Prepares requisitions, check requests, petty cash reimbursements,  monitors open encumbrances, and processes expense reports.
  • Assists in grant and budget preparation.
  • Provides back-up coverage for co-workers on the accounting team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of general office equipment, computer spreadsheets, programs/systems and accounting procedure skills.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, with some college-level accounting coursework; and two to five yearsâ™ experience in accounting/ bookkeeping.

Salary Range
$17.52 – $26.27 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
