In close collaboration with the Country Director (CD), the DCD provides leadership and management of the strategic programming, overseeing the strengthening of SI’s programme development, quality and accountability. The DCD ensures the internal coherence between program activities and makes sure that programs are driven by needs, based on evidence, adaptable to contextual changes and conflict sensitive, monitored closely and resourced appropriately.
The main challenges:
Adapt the program strategy to the evolution of needs and funding in close coordination with the CD and Grant Coordinator;
Reinforce the program coordination and refereral capacities with partners;
Plan and accompany SI localisation agenda for PM positions through capacity building.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
Work on improving field teams’ rapid implementation capacities through adapted programming;
Support the program team structuration for the 2 new bases of Nyala and Khartoum;
Ensure the feasability of program implementation during the upcoming rainy season in coordination with support departments.
Security constraints:
Even if Tchad is not a fully stable country, security level in Ndjamena remains low;
In addition, the DCD Program may have to to visit the bases in Sudan where security constraints are more present (curfew, restrictions of movemenst…).
Masters in a related degree (humanitarian response, international cooperation, development studies, one of SI technical fields: Wash, FSL, Shelter…). Experience with SI is highly desirable. Experience with the context of Sudan a plus;
