The NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP) is seeking an expert candidate to be its next Deputy Director. OSP is the agency’s central policy office and is responsible for advising the NIH Director on the development of new research policies and programs that will enable the safe conduct of basic, clinical, and translational research. In addition, OSP plays a key role as the NIH lead for policy negotiations with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), its operating divisions, as well as other federal agencies. OSP also lends its expertise to assist in the development of the NIH’s legislative, budget, and strategic planning activities. OSP is seeking an energetic, dedicated policy expert to be its next Deputy Director. In this role, the incumbent will oversee all elements of policy development, analysis, and evaluation conducted by OSP’s five operating divisions. These divisions focus on topics such as biosafety, biosecurity, emerging biotechnologies, scientific data sharing, clinical research, bioethics, innovation and more.
