Overview of position:
Our client in Yemen is implementing various construction projects under different programs in ranging from large scale new construction projects to rehabilitation of existing facilities in the country.
The Yemen food & security response & resilience project funded by the Worl Bank encompasses the construction of new facilities & rehabilitation of existing buildings ofour clients partners in Yemen. These projects aim at enhancing the national capacity of the country by providing a state of the art projects that include all kinds of modern technology & renewable energies to achieve sustainable infrastructure that eventually elevate the well being of the Yemeni people.

Under the overall supervision of the Construction Engineer the selected candidate is expected to:
Visit the project site to assess the existing structures & identify the items that is required to be rehabilitated & maintained.
Prepare a detailed scope of work that describes the current situation of the structure(s) & the need for rehabilitation supported with high quality pictures.
Develop architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical & plumping drawings in 2D & 3D as per our clients standards using engineering software such as AutoCAD & Revit.
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) to reflect all kind of activities as per our clients standards.
All documents are expected to be in editable format.
Conduct market analysis & provide cost estimates of the construction work.
Stakeholders & community consultation to ensure that all the land documents are authenticated & legitimate.
Identify all expected risks associated with the construction or the rehabilitation works & provide a detailed environmental & social safeguard report in accordance with our clients standards.
The generated design must solve all the issues identified & should be agreed upon with the local authorities.
The selected candidate is expected to avoid any unforeseen issues in the design that may affect the execution of the project or raise the budgeted costs of the project.
The project documents will only be accepted after the approval of the Construction Engineer.

Project reporting:
This role works under the overall supervision of the Construction Engineer.

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience is required.
Experience in engineering studies & design of rehabilitation & new construction is required.
Strong computer skills & advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
Knowledge of Auto CAD software is required.
Knowledge of 3D software like Sketchup, Archicad, 3D Max, Revit is desirable.
Working knowledge of English language is a must.
Excellent communication, interpersonal & teamwork skills.
Ability to work under minimum supervision.

This role has no team management responsibility.
