Collateral Repair Project (CRP) is a grassroots effort in Amman, Jordan that has provided much-needed assistance to vulnerable communities since 2006. We seek to assist those in need, foster social cohesion, offer learning opportunities, and help in building peace and reconciliation. Our services are provided regardless of background, and we currently provide assistance to people from many nationalities (e.g. Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Sudan, Yemen, Somalia).

CRP’s holistic approach involves deep community engagement, where we help individuals build resilience and heal from trauma. At our Family Resource and Community Centers, CRP provides a variety of educational, recreational, and wellness activities, which aid our community to gain skills and build community. Additionally, we provide community service and leadership opportunities for people to serve others, which has proven to be a key driver of empowerment and resilience. CRP’s greatest strengths are the deep knowledge and trust we have established with the community we serve, our commitment to community-based engagement, and our ability to develop nuanced, cost-effective, and impactful programs.

Work Environment

Our team brings together staff members and community volunteers in a dynamic work environment where personal initiative drives success. We are passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference and good listeners who typically work closely and value efficient teamwork. Our community centers are vibrant spaces where hospitality, enthusiasm, and cheerfulness are encouraged. We have made the well-being of our staff on top of our priorities and have implemented a 4-day work week for all employees at CRP. Furthermore, our centers are open 6 days a week to ensure they remain lively and accessible to the community.

Position Description

CRP’s Designer’s primary role is to be responsible for the overall look and feel of CRP physical and digital products and materials. Successful candidates are expected to be active learners who are willing to expand their knowledge of humanitarian work as well as community development.

The Designer will report directly to the Livelihoods Coordinator and is responsible for activities including, but not limited to:

  • Managing product development for Livelihoods programs particularly Hope Workshop;
  • Consultation with all departments on developing materials, packaging, and catalogs in alignment with the CRP brand;
  • Overseeing graphic design of printed and digital materials in various departments (i.e. brochures, packaging, catalogs, signage, ads, presentations, and the website);
  • Researching cultural context and best practices to inform designs;
  • Assisting in design aspects of new programs/projects, particularly in Livelihoods;
  • Actively collaborating on Livelihoods PR and client/third-party communications;
  • Supporting/coordinating with the Communications Officer and the Photographer with photoshoot planning and execution;
  • Assisting/supporting the Communication Officer and Photographer in developing ideas/inputs for social media content in line with the CRP digital marketing strategy;
  • Maintaining effective internal communications by using information sharing processes and encouraging collaboration between team members, particularly with regards to the Communications team;
  • Ensuring that all internal and external communications adhere to CRP’s style guide and any applicable donor requirements; and
  • Any other tasks assigned by the manager and leadership team.

Necessary Qualifications

Successful candidates must have the ability to

  • Develop clear goals consistent with organizational policies and strategies;
  • Prioritize tasks and utilize organizational skills to successfully achieve targets;
  • Work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with colleagues.;
  • Think creatively and strategically while functioning pragmatically;
  • Foresee risks and allow for contingencies when planning and implementing;
  • Listen to and connect with others and communicate with nuance and enthusiasm;
  • Manage employees, lead teams, and mentor staff.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in design/fashion or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience; previous work with refugees or other vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
  • Oral/written fluency in Arabic and English; familiarity with an international audience.
  • Strong portfolio with a keen eye for design.

Benefits: 400-600 JD/month, depending on experience, 14 days of annual vacation, health insurance, 4-day work week, daily staff lunch, flexibility and potential for career growth.
