Mission and objectives
The purpose of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) is to coordinate the efforts of the UN Country Team operating in Tajikistan to ensure provision of efficient and effective support to the UN Country Team and the government towards Tajikistan’s progress towards sustainable, inclusive green economic growth, and advancement of governance that is inclusive, transparent, gender-responsive and serving to protect human rights for all. The UN RC in Tajikistan is the designated representative of the Secretary-General and leads the resident and non-resident UN agencies, funds and programmes to deliver effective policies and efficient operational activities at the country level. The RCO works in close collaboration with the UN Country Team and serves as a nodal point for coherent and coordinated UN response to the needs of the people of Tajikistan, in concert with the national government institutions. The RCO promotes the vision of one-UN and draws on the diverse expertise of the UNCT members to demonstrate the value of the United Nations in the country. The RCO assists the UN Country Team to deliver visible and transparent system-wide results through strong monitoring, evaluation processes and reporting.
Context
The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Tajikistan seeks to enlist a Digital Illustration Volunteer to create digital illustrations for the design of various publications of the UN in Tajikistan, including illustrations on SDGs in general and UN Days and campaigns – IWD, 16 Days of Activism against GBV campaign among others. The illustrations also will be used in preparation of key UN publications, including leaflets, brochures, reports, and other types of information materials for the UN system in Tajikistan. The selected digital illustration volunteer will be responsible for preparation of a pack of high-quality electronically designed illustrations based on the list of topics to be provided.

Task description
We are looking for 1 Online Volunteer who under the guidance of UN RCO Programme Communications and Advocacy Analyst and in close collaboration with the UN Communications Group will help in creating the digital illustrations for internal and external communication products. In particular, the Online Volunteers are asked to: – Design and create digital illustrations and visuals for digital and print communications products (2-4 illustrations per week with the result of approximately 35-40 digital illustrations upon completion of assignment)
Requirements
Required experience
Candidates should have professional drawing and illustrating skills and experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing online as well as offline material, good verbal, and written communication skills. Advanced user of Adobe Photoshop, Canva of other relevant programs for designers. Availability of a portfolio of professional illustrations is an advantage.
