Offer Description

Gene regulation of myelination and demyelination by the role of specialised ribosomes (Line 1) (MyeRIBO)
This contract is part of the project “Deconstructing the Translational Control of Myelination by Specialized Ribosomes (MyeRIBO)” which received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 865157.
Indefinite-term contract for scientific and technical activities, pursuant to article 23 is of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on science, technology and innovation.
Assays of molecular techniques in in vitro and in vivo development models and Schwann cell pathologies. Studies related to discovering the identity of these specialized ribosomes in Schwann cells and investigating their functional role in myelin formation. Also, investigate if they have a role in diseases such as diabetic neuropathy.

Specific Requirements

Master’s Degree in Bioengineering: 15 points
PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biomedicine: 15 points
Creditable work experience in molecular biology techniques related to structural biology (cryo-electron tomography and x ray crystallography) and biochemistry (isothermal titration calorimetry, dynamic and static light scattering, high-pressure liquid chromatography): 30 points
Minimum of 2 scientific publications as author in magazines indexed in scopus / wos (Q1 or D1) related to structural biology (cryo-EM): 10 points
Creditable stay in foreign research centers (minimum of 3 years) in the field of structural biology: 10 points
Personal interview. The interview will be held only for the candidates with the highest scores who, in the sum of the rest of the merits, obtain a minimum of 50 points: 20 points

Benefits

Gross monthly salary: 2.219,74 € The special payments shall be prorated over 12 monthly instalments.
Duration of the contract: Indefinite
Expected start date: The day following the resolution of the contract award
Workday    Full-time: (35.0 hours per week) 09:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00 h.
