Are you keen for your work to make the difference?

Do you have excellent communication, research and organisational skills, coupled with professional fundraising experience, and are passionate about building meaningful relationships with varied partners?

Reporting directly to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), in a newly created post in a successful, collaborative and expanding team, the Development and Alumni Relations Manager (DARM) will be a self-starter, experienced in a professional fundraising role. The post holder will facilitate increased opportunities for the department to raise funds, through a variety of channels, including research to enable the bid for support from trusts and foundations. With a varied workload due to potential funding opportunities, successful candidates should respond positively to new challenges and be capable of making effective decisions. They will also be expected to continue the development of the University’s alumni relations programme, and to deliver plans which lead to greater interaction with alumni.

The Development and Alumni Relations team sits within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. In addition to engaging with the University’s Alumni community, it includes the Development Trust, a separate charity, which comprises a group of Trustees and Patrons who support the work of the Trust, and the Trust Secretary, who is also the Director of Development and Alumni Relations.

Experience of working within Alumni relations whilst desirable is not essential and we would welcome applications from candidates with diverse fundraising backgrounds within education.

This is an exciting time to join the Team, as the University, in partnership with the Development Trust, is in the planning stages of a new major philanthropic campaign, ’20 by 30 Together We Will Make The Difference’ to generate a co-contribution of £20m towards the fulfilment of the 2030 strategic goals.
