Development and Grants Management Officer

USD $70,000 / year

Reporting to the Deputy Secretary-General, the Development and Grants Management Officer is responsible for identifying potential funding sources, writing compelling grant proposals, managing awarded grants, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines. This role involves both proactive research for new funding opportunities and meticulous oversight of active grants and contracts to ensure proper reporting and project execution.

Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Research, Writing and Proposal Coordination:

  • Identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with PGA’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Analyze funding guidelines, eligibility requirements, and reporting needs for each potential grant.
  • Conduct research on potential funders, including their funding priorities and application processes.
  • Develop and coordinate compelling grant proposals in collaboration with program and finance staff, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with all grant application requirements and deadlines.

Grant and Contract Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with new and existing donors, including maintaining regular communication, sending acknowledgments and soliciting feedback.
  • Monitor awarded grants to ensure compliance with funder guidelines and project timelines.
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of timely narrative and financial reports and invoices to funders.
  • Maintain organizational registrations with donor agencies/foundations.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely with program staff to align grant proposals with organizational priorities and program goals.
  • Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and learning with program staff.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate budget management and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with the communications staff to develop compelling grant narratives and impact stories.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of experience in the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive grant proposals.
  • Strong analytical and research skills to identify potential funding opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple grants and deadlines.
  • Understanding of non-profit financial management and budgeting principles are a plus.
  • Proficiency in grant management software and databases is a plus.

Salary and benefits: Annual salary $70,000; benefits include full medical and dental insurance, hybrid workplace (2-3 days a week in the office), retirement plan, paid vacation and holidays.
