Rocky Mountain Field Institute (RMFI) was founded in 1982 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental organization based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of public lands in Southern Colorado. RMFI has grown to work in alpine and mountain terrains, watershed ecosystems, riparian zones, and the local foothills. RMFI is committed to protecting and enhancing the ecological health of our land and water resources by completing projects focused on watershed restoration, forest health, and creating sustainable outdoor recreation opportunities. By prioritizing the involvement of community volunteers, RMFI envisions a world where our work fosters vibrant and healthy natural systems that are respected and cared for by the public.

Position Summary:

The Development and Marketing Director (DMD) is a member of Rocky Mountain Field Institute’s senior leadership team and is responsible for driving donor programs, fundraising campaigns, and grant writing while overseeing marketing strategies, and other community engagement initiatives. The DMD will be crucial in increasing RMFI’s visibility, expanding the donor base, and securing financial support to advance the mission. This role will manage and grow all individual and corporate giving programs, assist with government and foundation grants, and guide marketing efforts. This role will require initial hustle as it is a new role, and the successful candidate will need to be entrepreneurial and fearless while also being flexible. The DMD will work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator and the Board Development Committee.
