Position Title: Development Associate, Annual
Fund 

Location: Remote (USA)

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000

Status: Full-time, salaried,
exempt 

Reports to: Senior Director of Philanthropy

ABOUT US: 

Since 1988, Rainforest Trust has been safeguarding imperiled
tropical habitats and saving endangered species by establishing
protected areas in partnership with local organizations and
communities. With our partners, we have protected more than 45
million acres of vital habitat across Latin America, Africa, Asia
and the Pacific. Rainforest Trust is a 501c3 nonprofit organization
that relies upon the generous support of the public to successfully
implement our important conservation action.

 

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR MISSION:

    Support the annual fundraising goal
    of the Philanthropy team by managing a portfolio of mid-level
    donors.
    Collaborate with the marketing team
    to develop communications and content for mid-level donors.
    Support the creation and
    implementation of a donor pipeline building process.
    Help manage constituent base using
    relevant technology.
    Pursue all of the above objectives in
    alignment with our core values.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

    A demonstrated ability to
    solicit 4-5 figure gifts.
    You are someone who consistently
    prioritizes meeting portfolio goals. You have a high level of
    emotional intelligence and can build strong relationships with
    donors. You will also excel at interfacing and collaborating with
    peers internally in the Philanthropy team. 
    The ability to segment
    portfolios and produce targeted communications.
    You have
    strong writing skills and can write with a sense of urgency that
    compels a donor to give. 
    A deep knowledge of
    techniques and best practices in annual giving.
    You stay
    current with best practices in fundraising. You can handle donor
    data while respecting confidentiality. As a strategic and systems
    thinker, you can implement efficiencies and build out processes
    effortlessly. 
    A strong technical
    proficiency.
    You must be able to document in the donor
    management system/CRM. Working with the Donor Services Manager, you
    can create automations in the CRM. You have strong working
    competency with Google Suite and Microsoft 365.

Working Conditions and Travel
Requirements
 

Rainforest Trust is a remote first organization and the
incumbent will be expected to work primarily from home with an
excellent internet connection, though part-time office space may be
available in Warrenton, VA and/or Washington DC.

 

Occasional national and/or international travel may be required
for organizational meetings and other events.

Anticipated Salary 

The salary range for this position is $50,000- $60,000
commensurate with experience. This base compensation range
represents the anticipated low and high range of wages for this
position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various
factors, such as candidate’s location, qualifications, skills,
