Job Summary: The University of Alabama is
receiving applications for a position in Advancement. Consideration
is being given for both the Associate Director and Director of
Development positions.
Additional Department Summary: Identify,
cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects for The
University of Alabama. This position will work with individuals,
corporations, and foundations in building relationships in support
of academic and institutional priorities. This position supports
the College of Arts and Sciences by securing major gifts that align
with the college’s strategic priorities.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Associate Director of Development: Bachelor’s
degree and three (3) years of professional experience in
development, fundraising, sales, communications, or public
relations; Master’s degree and one (1) year of professional
experience in development, fundraising, sales, communications, or
public relations. Frequent travel required.
Director of Development: Bachelor’s degree and
five (5) years of experience, in development, fundraising, sales,
communications or public relations; OR Master’s degree and three
(3) years of experience in development, fundraising, sales,
communications or public relations. Frequent travel required.
Additional Required Department Minimum
Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license.
Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an
acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with
University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some
driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Good public
relations, oral and written communications, excellent
organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills required.
Ability to use personal computer for word processing and standard
software packages.
