This is an unique opportunity for a social-impact minded
candidate with a passion for the arts–especially music–and
education.
As a qualified candidate you have strong interpersonal skills
and can engage a diverse audience of potential donors with ease.
You are adept at team projects, are comfortable managing others
when necessary, and evidence a creative mindset that helps you
forge new pathways for the organization as well. You are eager to
inspire funders with narratives of need and stories of success and
excited to hit fundraising benchmarks doing it.
This position is full-time, roughly 75% remote, and includes
some travel. The successful candidate will arrive with ideas and a
rolodex, prepared to hit the ground fundraising on day
one.
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Development & Fundraising

Work with management staff to execute
an annual development plan that achieves an annual fundraising goal
of $3,000,000+
Research to identify and prioritize
new individual donors, foundations, and corporate and other funding
opportunities
Develop strategies for individual
donor cultivation, set up/hold donor meetings
Write proposals and execute
successful solicitations
Build relationships with foundation
program officers and collaborate with TeachRock grant team on
proposals to secure funding
Work with management team on annual
fundraising event, recruiting committee hosts, and gaining
corporate and family foundation sponsorships
Create a personal fundraising
calendar with goals and deadlines (donor outreach, meetings and
fundraising events)
Communications & Admin

Provide regular reports on
fundraising progress
Work with Finance Department on gift
processing
Maintain records and ensure accuracy
of donor database
Collaborate with Executive Director
and Development Manager to acknowledge donors, and implement annual
communications strategy and calendar that includes donor
communications via newsletters, social media, and website
content
The Candidate Will Have:
-
A passion for inspiring others
through mission-driven narratives
Minimum of 6 years of professional
experience in nonprofit fundraising/development and communications,
and a demonstrated track record that matches this experience
Previous success in identifying,
cultivating, and securing major gifts of $10,000 and more
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Ability to effectively work with and
within a donor database in order to track donor “moves” and
history. Experience with EveryAction and similar platforms strongly
preferred.
Excellent time-management skills with
the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload and manage
multiple projects simultaneously
Enthusiasm for music and
education
An innovative mindset and ability to
dream big, while being mindful of executing day-to-day tasks

Salary Range
$100,000 – $130,000, depending on experience
