About the Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director, this a rare and greenfield role to drive ACE’s fundraising forward to diversify and strengthen income supporting the delivery of their work and maximising outcomes.

This is an opportunity to use your experience to develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy from ground up. The objective is to scale and build the organisation with a focus on driving philanthropic relationships with major donors, trusts and foundations and securing new partnerships across corporate and government.

You will join a small and mighty team. This hands-on role will require you to review and develop fundraising marketing materials and explore and diversify other fundraising streams including regular giving and community fundraising programs.

This is an opportunity where you will have the freedom to innovate, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and make a significant impact on the cultural landscape through growing fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy focusing on philanthropy, bequests, and donations.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from various sources including philanthropic organisations, businesses, and individual donors.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across sectors including philanthropists, businesses, donors, advertisers, and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Support the Executive Director in fostering partnerships with arts philanthropists and funding bodies to enhance ACE’s sustainability.
  • Conduct research to identify potential income streams and business development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to explore and leverage sponsorship.
  • Contribute to strategic reviews and planning exercises to ensure ACE’s long-term sustainability and growth.
  • Develop and maintain a workplan aligned with organisational goals and objectives.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated success achieving fundraising revenue targets through relationship management including major gifts / T&F or Bequests.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practice and the ability to think strategically to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with the ability to drive initiatives from conception to implementation.
  • Experience designing and implementing successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail, exemplarily written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and confident delivering across multiple projects under pressure.
