The International Studio & Curatorial Program is seeking a
Development Manager in East Williamsburg, NY. ISCP is a
not-for-profit, residency-based contemporary art center for
emerging to mid-career artists and curators from around the world.

The Development Manager is responsible for a range of essential
organizational activities and reports to the Executive Director.
The Development Manager supervises the Development Associate.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategize with Executive Director and board Fundraising
    Committee and draft annual fundraising plan, lead fundraising
    initiatives, including grant applications, fundraising events,
    individual giving
  • Liaise with Executive Director on new sponsor outreach planning
    and execution
  • Prepare funding applications for individuals, government,
    foundation, and corporate support; manage interim and year end
    reporting to funders
  • Manage and direct fundraising events, including the planning
    and coordination of benefits, auctions, cultivation events, sale of
    editions
  • Work on the multi-year capital campaign, in collaboration with
    two other staff members and a board committee
  • Work with the board Fundraising Committee, including
    organization of regular committee meetings and reporting on
    development at Board meetings
  • Conduct prospect research
  • Liaise with funders regarding special projects as needed
  • Liaise with Director of Finance and Operations on budget for
    fundraising
  • Liaise with communications staff to supply text for newsflashes
    pertaining to fundraising initiatives
  • Build the overall fundraising capacity of the institution
  • Advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility at
    ISCP

 

Education and experience:

  • A minimum of five years experience in contemporary arts
    fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit environment
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced
    environment
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, problem solve, and
    multitask
  • Supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with grant writing
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number years’ experience
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and G
    Suite; Salesforce/database experience a plus
