The Green Action Trust is Scotland’s leading environmental regeneration charity and a trusted
delivery partner for the Scottish Government and a wide range of stakeholders including local
authorities, regional partnerships, landowners, environmental groups, and local communities.

We are passionate about delivering positive environmental and social change in Scotland and are
seeking a Development Officer with a similar passion to help us deliver and grow our
activities.

Our Development Officers lead on the development and implementation of projects and programmes
relating to: climate change and adaptation; green infrastructure; biodiversity; net zero; and
the green recovery.

This role is one that suits individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including but not
exclusively, the earth sciences, planning and landscape. It is equally important to have a
desire to work with others to bring about positive environmental change. In addition to
relevant experience and qualifications, we are seeking applicants with:

  • Excellent communication skills, including working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
  • A positive, solution orientated and flexible attitude to their work.
  • An excellent understanding of the policy background that drives actions to address the
    climate and biodiversity crises.
  • A track record of successful project management.

Please see our Development Officer Recruitment Pack for more details.

At the Green Action Trust we believe that staff should enjoy their work. We support a strong
work life balance through flexible and hybrid working, training, a range of staff activities,
and a strong employee benefits package.

This is a permanent, full-time position, based from our office in Stepps, North Lanarkshire
(with home working). Flexible working would be considered. As travel within Scotland will be
required, a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
