The Role:

 

The position of Development Trainee – IT requires a young IT professional who can deliver IT support services that include hardware, software, and networking support to Oxfam users in Bangladesh.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitation: The primary responsibility will be facilitating various aspects of information technology relevant to the role. This could include learning about operating systems, networking concepts, databases, GDPR, etc.
  • Assisting in IT Support: Delivering technical assistance to internal users, addressing hardware and software challenges such as Windows installation, printer setup, and mobile device management. Assisting with IT inquiries and offering guidance on optimizing technology usage in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar.
  • Vendor Management and Manage Inventory: Cultivating strong ties with IT suppliers and overseeing warranty claims. Managing IT inventory, ensuring its accuracy through timely updates to the inventory database.
  • System Administration: Installing and configuring software, managing user accounts and permissions, monitoring system performance, and ensuring the security of IT systems.
  • Adapting New Technologies: The IT field is constantly evolving, so part of the responsibility will involve staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in the industry. This might involve self-study, attending training sessions, obtaining relevant certifications, and creating Apps using Power Apps.
  • Adhering to Policies and Procedures: Expected to adhere to Oxfam policies and procedures related to IT security, data privacy, and usage of IT resources.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective communication and collaboration are important in IT roles. May need to work closely with other team members, communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, and participate in team meetings and discussions.

An ideal candidate for the role will also be/have:

  • Minimum Graduation in Computer Science & Engineering or relevant backgrounds.
  • At least 1 year of practical experience in IT support service preferably in Local or international NGOs.
  • Have a clear understanding of IT support services.
