The Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) Jordan is inviting applications for a Digital Analyst consultancy role, starting in September 2024. This consultancy will span up to 65 days over 20 months, with a total gross fee of €19,500. The Digital Analyst will play a crucial role in monitoring and tracking hate speech across various digital platforms in Jordan, including mainstream and alternative tech spaces.
The primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive digital research using both quantitative and qualitative methods. This involves analyzing data from social media and online sources to detect and assess online extremist activity, hate campaigns, and disinformation. The consultant will be tasked with producing regular reports that document their findings and support the development of training modules aimed at addressing hate speech.
The role also requires the Digital Analyst to help evolve methodologies and tools for online analytics, particularly in detecting and analyzing disinformation and media manipulation.
Key qualifications for this role include a strong proficiency in both English and Arabic, with native-level Arabic being essential. Applicants should have substantial experience with online analytical tools and techniques, as well as a background in researching societal issues related to technology, extremism, and hate speech.
The position offers flexibility as it can be carried out remotely or based in Jordan. Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work independently, be highly organized, and have strong attention to detail. They should also be capable of producing clear, accessible reports for various stakeholders, including media, researchers, and policymakers.

- A budget breakdown: Consultants should include a detailed cost breakdown in their applications. This should encompass the day rate, applicable taxes, and any surcharges. The maximum net price for the consultancy is 19,500 Euros gross, inclusive of all applicable taxes and fees. Consultants based outside of Jordan with excellent English proficiency and native-level proficiency in Arabic are also encouraged to apply. Any international travel costs should be included in the budget breakdown within the same total.
