Purpose of the role

This is a strategic role to support the growth of our fundraising in Sweden. We are growing rapidly, and part of the role will be exploring new possibilities and leading and assisting development projects to find new sources of income or scale what we do.

  • Responsible for strategy for donor acquisition in digital channels.
  • Responsible for managing and executing digital fundraising campaigns.

Key Working Relationships

  • The larger Sweden fundraising team and communication team as well as digital fundraising and communication colleagues working in other countries.
  • Liaise with creative agencies, partners and freelancers as needed.
  • The role has no line management responsibility.

Key accountabilities

Digital acquisition ~50%,

  • Plan, manage and implement paid acquisition campaigns in Sweden, with the support of the global digital marketing team. The purpose is to recruit new donors. Primary channels are Facebook/Meta and Google.
  • Analyze KPIs and results to make recommendations for how to spend strategically and maximize return on paid media activities.
  • Continually optimize paid acquisition campaigns across digital media platforms.
  • Implement, edit, test and improve landing pages and other online donation functionality to provide a great experience for the donor. Work with global tech teams and external agencies to improve digital donation experience.
  • Activate and manage emergency fundraising.

Content and campaign coordination ~30%.

  • Develop content for digital channels that meet campaign needs, goals and specifications. Content creation will in some cases be done with the support of colleagues or external agencies, but will also, in some cases, be part of this role.
  • Quality assure content and improve content effectiveness for digital channels.
  • Coordinate and synchronize with teams in Sweden and globally.
  • Coordinate larger campaigns.

Growth and development ~20%

  • Support the growth of Sweden Mass Market acquisition operations. We are in a growth scenario and part of the role will be around leading and assisting projects to help scale activity. In this task evaluation and assessing possible new channels is included.

General

  • Keep up to date with the sector developments in acquisition fundraising to ensure RESCUE is at the forefront of fundraising.
  • Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Associate Director of Fundraising Programs.

Person specification

Experience

Essential:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in fundraising.
  • Experience of running fundraising campaigns, including a solid understanding of how to set up and optimize campaigns to maximize results.
  • Experience of developing strategy, plans and budgets.
  • Experience of digital advertising on Google, Facebook/Meta or other platforms.
  • Experience of working in a team towards digital fundraising or marketing goals.
  • Maintain and develop a monitoring and reporting framework for acquisition activities and associated KPIs that show the performance of the acquisition strategy.
  • Experience in developing fundraising content for different channels.

Meritorious:

  • Experience in requesting video content.
  • Experience in working with creative agencies.
  • Experience in other fundraising channels such as influencer marketing, peer to peer fundraising, media partnerships, programmatic or other.

Skills

  • Education in marketing, fundraising, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of search marketing and Facebook Ads.
  • Content creation including writing fundraising copy and basic design skills.
  • Commercial mindset.
  • Fluent in Swedish and English. In Swedish you need to be able to write marketing texts. In English you need to be able to communicate effectively in an international organization.
