We enable those who wish to apply to study on undergraduate and postgraduate courses to make informed choices.This is an exciting opportunity to join the Communications and Reputation team, working on the University’s global reputation campaign and supporting the delivery of the University’s Research Communications Strategy in support of the University’s ambition to become a world top 50 institution. The Digital Marketing Officer will help to co-ordinate the delivery of the University’s marketing campaigns to raise profile and global reputation. This position works with the Deputy Director of Communications and Reputation, the Marketing Manager, and colleagues from across External Relations and the wider University. The successful candidate should have experience in managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and ideally have experience in digital advertising and social media.Role SummaryThe Digital Marketing Officer will support the Communications and Reputation Team in the co-ordination of both traditional and digital campaigns, managing and executing the delivery of appropriate assets, copy and designs and securing all necessary approvals. Working with both internal and external agencies and teams across the University the post holder will ensure campaigns are launched on time and within budget.The post holder will enjoy working within a busy, creative and fast-paced team. This role would be suited to someone with experience in running concurrent campaigns who understand how a multi-channel campaign works. The post holder will have a good understanding of digital marketing targeting techniques, web and social media. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and be adept at managing projects in an organised, collaborative way.Main Duties

  • Support the co-ordination and delivery of marketing campaigns working with the Communications and Reputation team, that deliver against key objectives in line with the University Strategic Framework and communications strategies, raising the profile of the University’s Research Challenge Themes in the region, country and across the world.
  • Co-ordinate and manage multi-channel campaigns using social media, digital advertising, out of home advertising, programmatic, virtual and in-person events.
  • Manage communications with internal and external agencies, designers, suppliers and partners to ensure that all content is approved on time and is delivered within budget, escalating any issues as required.
  • Working with our advertising agency, develop and deliver digital advertising campaigns, segmenting audiences to target campaign outcomes.
  • Write and proof copy for a range of media and channels including websites, social media, emails and brochures.
  • Input into content creation to support campaign development, collaborating with colleagues to ensure campaigns reach their intended audience and drive the required outcomes.
  • Track and analyse data to measure campaign success and in order to optimise activity, reporting results in a timely and standardised way.
  • Ensure that the reputation and brand of the University is supported and adhered to at all times, working with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Use the website CMS to edit webpages, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with campaign goals.
  • Act as the team’s budget administrator, processing all finance orders and managing monthly reports and quarterly outturns.
  • Collaborate with the social media team, research communications colleagues, and researchers across the University to create and publish social media research content optimised for appropriate channels.

  • Degree-level education or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of devising, and delivering, multi-channel marketing communications plans
  • Good project management skills
  • Good level of experience of working in a marketing or communications environment
  • Experience of translating complex information into accessible communications and multiple channels
  • An understanding of the complexities and competing factors related to research environment and higher education
  • Proven copywriting ability for a range of audiences and communications channels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Enthusiastic approach with an ability to bring people together to work on a common cause
  • A proven, high standard of communication and confidence of dealing with projects at all levels
  • Well-developed administrative and organisational skills with a proven ability to pay meticulous attention to detail
  • Tenacious, with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Computer literate, confident and competent in the use of database systems and electronic communication
  • Experience of using social media as part of a marketing or communications campaign
  • Experience of coordinating and evaluating digital advertising campaigns
  • Ability to use analytics (Google Analytics) and interpret data to inform your work
  • Experience of using CMS and CRM software
  • Ability to work with initiative and being able to prioritise work in a pressured environment and manage multiple workloads simultaneously
