Manager – Digital Process Transformation
ICRISAT seeks application from dynamic professionals for the position of Manager – Digital Process Transformation to lead and manage the digitalization of business processes across the organization. This role involves identifying opportunities for process improvement through digital technologies, implementing digital tools and platforms, and ensuring the seamless integration of digital solutions into existing workflows. The manager will collaborate with various departments to drive efficiency, optimize performance, and support the organization?s digital transformation strategy. The incumbent is based at ICRISAT, Patancheru, Hyderabad, India to support the Solution Development & Integration portfolio of the Information System Unit.

ICRISAT is headquartered in Patancheru near Hyderabad, India, with two regional hubs and eight country offices in sub-Saharan Africa. ICRISAT envisions a prosperous, food-secure and resilient dryland tropics. Its mission is to reduce poverty, hunger, malnutrition and environmental degradation in semi-arid areas. ICRISAT conducts research on its mandate crops of chickpea, pigeonpea, groundnut, sorghum, pearl millet and finger millet in the arid and semi-arid tropics, with a agricultural systems approach. The Institute focuses its work on the drylands and in protecting the environment. Tropical dryland areas are usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping dryland communities in poverty and hunger and making them dependent on external aid. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution:
o Develop and implement a comprehensive digital process transformation strategy aligned with organizational objectives/goals.
o Create and manage a detailed roadmap for digital transformation initiatives, prioritizing projects based on impact and feasibility.

Process Analysis and Optimization:
o Conduct thorough analyses of existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
o Redesign processes to incorporate digital technologies, streamline operations, and enhance productivity.
o Implement process automation tools such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation) to reduce manual efforts and errors.

Technology Implementation:
o Evaluate, select, and implement digital tools and platforms that support business process transformation.
o Ensure seamless integration of digital solutions with existing systems and workflows.
o Collaborate with the Technical experts to address technical requirements and challenges.

Project Management:
o Lead and manage digital transformation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and stakeholder alignment.
o Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Change Management:
o Develop and execute change management plans to facilitate the adoption of new digital processes.
o Provide training and support to employees on new digital tools and processes.
o Communicate the benefits and impact of digital transformation initiatives to stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
o Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of digital process transformation efforts.
o Monitor and analyze performance data to assess the impact of digital initiatives.
o Prepare and present regular reports to the head of ISU on project progress, performance, and outcomes

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
o Stay updated on emerging digital technologies and industry trends to identify new opportunities for the implementation of innovative digital solutions for process improvement.
o Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
o Promote and implement best practices in digital transformation and process optimization using tools like Robotic Processes Automation (RPA). Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML).

o Assess team strengths and weaknesses to increase self-awareness and include these in conversations on team developmental needs.

Essential Qualifications:

Master?s degree in information technology, Computer Science, computer engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in process improvement, digital transformation, or related roles. Bachelor?s degree in information technology, Computer Science, computer engineering or a related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience in process improvement, digital transformation, or related roles.

Experience in project management and implementing digital technologies is essential.

Atleast 2+ years of experience in supervising people in a Managerial role

Demonstrated abilities and proficiency in working with multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in process automation tools, Business analysis, digital platforms, Business intelligent processes and tools, and project management software.
Understanding of IT infrastructure and systems integration.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes and identify improvement opportunities.
Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Change Management: Experience in leading change management initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Relationships/collaboration:
Internal: Collaborate with department heads, IT teams, Subject Matter Experts, and other stakeholders to drive digital transformation initiatives.
External: Engage with technology vendors, consultants, and industry experts to explore and implement digital solutions.
General:
This position is on contract initially for a period of three years (36 months) renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position.
