Purpose of the role
We are seeking the help of a highly motivated and skilled colleague to oversee Eurogroup for Animals’ digital ecosystem, ensuring that the organisation’s online presence effectively supports its advocacy goals across Europe. The role combines technical oversight, content production, and campaign delivery. It acts as the organisation’s focal point for digital implementation, website management, email marketing, analytics, and the digital execution of mass‑mobilisation tools. Working closely with the Communications Team and other internal stakeholders, the Digital Strategy Officer ensures that all digital channels are coherent, high‑performing, and aligned with Eurogroup for Animals’ mission.
Primary responsibilities
Digital strategy & performance
- Contribute to the drafting and implementation of Eurogroup for Animals’ digital communications strategies in close collaboration with the Communications Team;
- Monitor progress, analyse performance, and optimise digital channels based on data‑driven insights;
- Oversee analytics, and audience acquisition plans to grow reach and engagement.
Website & platform management
- Manage and continuously improve the Eurogroup for Animals website, including content updates, SEO optimisation, performance tracking, and user experience enhancements;
- Coordinate technical maintenance with an external provider and project‑manage website development initiatives;
- Manage and improve the Animal Welfare Intergroup website.
Email marketing & supporter journeys
- Manage the organisation’s email marketing platform (Pardot/Salesforce Account Engagement), including data structure, segmentation, user preferences, and template design;
- Produce the internal and external newsletters;
- Develop and refine supporter journeys to strengthen engagement and mobilisation.
Campaign delivery & digital mobilisation
- Coordinate the digital execution of mass‑mobilisation campaigns, including petitions, mail‑to‑target tools, and other engagement mechanisms. Ensure smooth, accessible, and effective user journeys across all digital campaign touchpoints.
Content & visual production
- Maintain editorial guidelines and ensure consistent application across digital channels;
- Edit and produce high‑quality written content for the website and other platforms;
- Create visual assets to support campaigns, publications, and digital storytelling.
Person specification
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Professional experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a webmaster, content manager, digital strategy officer, digital marketeer, or similar roles in consultancy, NGOs, or industry;
- Proven experience developing and implementing digital strategies and managing complex digital ecosystems.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in CMS (Drupal), web management, and digital tools;
- Strong command of CRM and email marketing systems (Salesforce/Pardot or Mailchimp);
- Ability to track and measure digital performance using analytics tools (Google Analytics);
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Canva.
Editorial skills
- Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality written content in English;
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into accessible language;
- Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
Competencies
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Jira, Trello);
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and under pressure;
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills;
- Creative, solutions‑oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset;
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to remain effective and positive in a dynamic, fast-changing environment; demonstrated resilience when facing setbacks or shifting priorities.
Desirable skills and qualifications
- Knowledge of the animal protection sector and affinity with animal advocacy;
- Understanding of the Brussels environment;
- Experience with video content creation;
- Knowledge of at least one other European language;
- Proficient with Adobe suite.

Practicalities
The position is a full-time permanent position, preferably based in Brussels, though remote arrangements may be considered. Belgian contract with a competitive remuneration and benefits package. A valid EU working permit is required.
Salary range €3,282/mo to €5,082/mo depending on experience.
