Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

Today, an estimated 47 million children under 5 suffer from wasting and 14.3 million (approximately one-third) of these children suffer from severe wasting, the most life-threatening form of child malnutrition. UNICEF’s primary goal is to ensure that no child dies from wasting. Our approach aims to accelerate progress on two inter-related fronts simultaneously:

  • Reduce the number of children suffering from the more severe forms of wasting.
  • Increase the number of children with severe forms of wasting who access treatment.

This consultancy will support the development of a comprehensive resource library focusing on guidance and documents related to child wasting, built on the existing and recently updated website (childwasting.org) using approved UNICEF CMS platform and content developed by UNICEF and WHO.

Scope of Work:

The Programme Group – Nutrition and Child Development in UNICEF NYHQ seeks to hire a Digital Web Producing Consultant to develop and finalize a resource library for guidance and documents related to Child Wasting. The resource library will be built onto the approved UNICEF CMS platform, as a new tab under the recently updated childwasting.org website. The consultant will transfer an already developed database into a resource library with a new webpage developed for each item and provide technical advice as necessary. The deliverable will be the quality production of the resource library, and support quality assurance of the entire new website.

Activities:

The Digital Web Producing Consultant will play a vital role in the timely production of the resource library under childwasting.org website. In particular:

  • Gather, and publish visual assets (photos, videos, publishing PowerBI visuals, and other assets) for the resource library.
  • Build the structure using existing database into a fully functional website.
  • Provide web editorial support in putting existing content in the right format for the web pages.
  • Produce editorial content as directed.

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in web development.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in enterprise digital platform work, preferably with UNICEF HQ
  • Successful track record building pages with a user-focus, utilising UX/UI to enhance.
