Community Servings’ mission is to actively engage the community
to provide medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to
chronically and critically ill individuals and their families. In
addition, we are committed to prioritizing racial and economic

We are a dynamic and fast-growing agency at the forefront of the
“Food is Medicine” field, providing over 1M medically tailored
meals annually to clients and their families experiencing illness
and food insecurity in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition,
our work strongly focuses on supporting the regional local food
system, delivering high-quality nutrition education to the
community, and hosting an on-site food-service workforce
development program. Over the past 34 years, the agency has
provided 13M+ free, scratch-made meals.
About the Role
Community Servings has experienced significant growth in
leadership giving since closing out a $12.2M capital campaign in
2019, now raising over $2.2M annually. The Director of Major
and Planned Giving, a newly created position, will oversee the
reinvention of the leadership giving program and the launch of a
planned giving program. They will develop and execute an
annual plan to cultivate, solicit and steward major donors.
The Director of Major and Planned Giving will utilize moves
management tools to increase the giving levels of existing donors
and create a new pool of potential donors through research,
relationship building and outreach, collaborating with the Board of
Directors, Board of Advisors, Development staff, and Executive team
to achieve fundraising goals for major gifts. They will hire,
train and manage a team to support the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
trains and manages up to five new staff.

objectives of $2M+ for major gifts.

MGO and CEO to develop a strategy for large gifts of $50,000 or
more.
partners to set and achieve goals, produce major donor events and
materials, and meet budget expectations.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of ten years of experience working in a fast-paced
nonprofit development role with at least five years of experience
personally soliciting five and six figure gifts. - Experience working in a major gifts environment that frequently
utilizes special events is a plus. - Demonstrates superior attention to detail.
- Operates effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Demonstrates superior time management skills with the ability
to work effectively under, and consistently meet, deadlines, and
adapt priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Strategic mindset with an ability to think and focus on both
the near- and long-term. - Comfortable with public speaking.
- Available evenings and weekends for donor visits and events as
needed. - SalesForce and Microsoft Office proficiency are a must.

two Development Associates
