Position Summary

The Director of the Center for College Readiness Initiatives is responsible for implementing targeted strategies that prepare teachers, leaders, and students for postsecondary opportunities, including but not limited to advanced academics, the development and sustainability of a college, and career-going culture.

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, details to be determined.

Hiring Range: $ 95,900+

Requirements

  • Masters degree
  • 4+ years of experience developing, implementing, and leading educational programs serving K-12 students
  • Skills
    • Connection to and understanding of Texas postsecondary readiness and access landscape
    • Evidence of exemplary program and staff management experience
    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize data to inform and drive decision-making and program enhancement
    • Demonstrated commitment to infusing racial equity and culturally responsive pedagogy into work in Pre-K – 12th education
    • Familiarity with best practices and model programs in the areas of college readiness, access and success, and stakeholder empowerment
    • Written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to develop program partnerships and seek internal and external funding sources
    • Knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans

Essential Functions

  • Creates and implements the strategic vision for District partnerships to achieve the Center for College Readiness program objectives and mission.
  • Able to interpret, implement, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations regarding enrollment and registration processes.
  • Analyzes data, identifies trends, and recommends and implements changes to improve alignment with institutional mission and goals.
  • Coordinates professional development for educators and oversees selected programs to ensure effective functioning
  • Respond to district and community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs
  • Supports the development of school improvement plans to ensure effective outcomes
  • Actively seeks and manages multiple funding resources and grants to support the Center for College Readiness.
  • Works with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement events and activities that enhance a college and career school culture
  • Provides professional development for administrators, teachers, and counselors on college readiness
  • Provides and expands support for career readiness partners, including program advisory councils, local businesses, postsecondary partners, community-based organizations
  • Creates and coordinates collaborative networks focused on college readiness actions

Preferences

  • Five years plus classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Three to five years in leading efforts toward postsecondary education for school communities
  • Education Experience:
  • Terminal degree preferred (PhD, Ed. D)
  • Teacher and Principal Credentials required
