ABOUT CEE

The Council for Economic Education’s (CEE’s) mission is to equip
K-12 students with the tools and knowledge of personal finance and
economics so that they can make better decisions for themselves,
their families, and their communities. CEE does everything possible
to bring this knowledge to nearly 3.5 million K-12 students
annually, leveraging our network of national affiliates.  We
work to make sure financial and economic education is required in
K-12 schools; we provide free training and resources annually to
over 40,000 teachers to build their abilities and confidence; and
we deeply engage students through our competitions and career
programs to build skills for life.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Join our dynamic team as the Director, Corporate and
Foundation Partnerships
, to play a key role in shaping and
implementing CEE’s funding strategy. Reporting to the Chief
Development Officer, you’ll contribute your expertise to manage a
diverse portfolio of corporate donors and philanthropic foundations
supporting CEE’s mission and programs. This will include managing
all aspects of the grant life cycle, including prospecting,
proposal coordination and submission, donor reporting, and other
award activities, and knowledge management. The Director will work
closely with the other departments, principally the CEE program
team, as well as with Finance and the CEO.

 

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship Excellence

  • Identify and engage with new funding opportunities, taking the
    lead in expanding our donor base within the corporate and corporate
    foundation spheres.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing donors,
    ensuring regular updates, facilitating program staff meetings, and
    preparing for the renewal process.

Proposal Development

  • Coordinate the end-to-end proposal development process,
    demonstrating your writing prowess and using a proposal-management
    process to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond effectively
    to funding opportunities, ensuring all deadlines are met and
    actions are tracked.

Post-Award Management

  • Uphold strong relationships with donors, ensuring the timely
    and compliant submission of all grant deliverables and
    reports.
  • Manage cross-departmental responses to funder requests, working
    closely with program and finance teams to ensure budgets submitted
    to prospects/donors align with plans.

Knowledge Management

  • Update and maintain our knowledge management system (Raiser’s
    Edge), serving as the go-to resource for pre- and post-award
    documents and communications.

Team Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with the CDO and other team members to
    develop and monitor the institutional funding plan.
  • Contribute to multi-year revenue projections, serve on
    cross-departmental working groups, and take on other assigned
    duties.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Passionate commitment to CEE’s mission, purpose, and
    values.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate
    and foundation fundraising.
  • Proven ability to facilitate collaborative processes within
    teams.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, independent worker with strong multitasking
    abilities and the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with or in partnership with a variety of
    donors; team management experience is a plus.
  • Project Management: Works effectively on project
    teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Problem Solve & Make Decisions: Identifies,
    analyzes and resolves existing and anticipated problems, makes
    timely decisions to reach the best solutions for the
    organization.
  • Internal/External Focus: Anticipates internal and
    external partner’s needs; assesses requirements and identifies new
    solutions that align with overall goals and objectives of the
    organization.
  • Communication & Influence: Communicates with
    and influences others to gain agreement and commitment to the
    strategic goals of the organization.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $100,000 – 110,000 and is commensurate with
background and experience. The Council for Economic Education
offers an excellent benefits package, including medical insurance,
