The University of Miami School of Law has a great opportunity for a Director, Digital Strategy and User Experience Office of Law Communications to work at the Coral Gables Campus.
CORE JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Digital Strategy guides the digital strategy for the University of Miami School of Law’s website, brand, and programs to ensure that all institutional websites and other digital assets such as emails and e-newsletters appropriately convey the University’s mission statement and available services.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties and performs content maintenance tasks. Creates or reviews website structure and nomenclature for the most intuitive presentation of content. Develops strategies for increasing web engagement. Collaborates with internal teams to align on web strategy, define priorities, share website performance, and outline improvement opportunities and plans. Assists digital solutions staff in identifying, evaluating, and creating business case for improvements to data and analytics. Serves as leading web technology advisor to assigned departments. Conducts periodic competitive analysis of other websites. Establishes and maintains editorial standards and accuracy and quality of content on websites. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and minimum 7 years of work-related experience in increasingly responsible positions of management of web and digital projects from conception to completion. Excellent English oral and written communication skills required.
Department Specific Functions:
The Director of Digital Strategy develops, administers, and coordinates projects, processes and services related to web design, digital communications, user experience and select web and digital development projects. This position will help advance an innovative communications plan through strategic use of media including websites, social media, mobile technology, online advertising, email marketing and other related platforms.

Manages complex factors for which new solutions must be found and works in coordination with the Executive Director for Communications and Public Relations on administering policies, programs and functions for web, digital and multimedia efforts.

Oversees functions related to CMS users.

Creates and maintains all online communications functions including developing style parameters, designing and editing sections and features of the School’s website.

Responsible for compliance with all web-related policies and procedures, both University and according to national and international standards.

Works on projects requiring or utilizing digital resources such as MS Dynamics, Salesforce/Marketo, Cascade as well as e-Newsletters/ e-Comms for both external and internal communications.

Advises on best practices for multimedia and web design.

Creates custom microsites or web pages and other landing pages for promotion of conferences, courses or special events.

Strategizes, plans, designs and develops digital collateral including but not limited to banner ads for digital advertising, email marketing materials for campaigns and newsletters, landing pages, etc.

Spearheads user experience and user interface design for Miami Law websites and relevant marketing landing pages.

Manages the designing, developing and implementing of strategic multimedia projects intended to improve prospective JD, MLS, and LLM student recruitment efforts, enhance the overall current student experience and modernize the law school’s online and multimedia presence.

Develops strategic communications to support recruitment goals for JD, MLS, and LLM programs that work in concert with other online and offline efforts.

Responsible for database support relevant to web functions of the Office of Communications and Events including but not limited to Marketo, SalesForce and other internal systems.

Generates reports and analyzes data from tools such as GA4, Marketo, Hootsuite, SalesForce and official social media sites to improve performance of digital collateral and web pages.

Serves as liaison between IT and Office of Communications and Events on platforms and systems for marketing and communications.

Provides the highest level of customer service to external and internal clients, partners, and customers.

Goals and objectives are established and accomplished under the direction of the Executive Director for Marketing and Public Relations.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others. Proficiency in the following software as well as web development and digital communications and marketing best practices: HTML, CSS, Javascript. Expert knowledge of e-mail development and testing for multiple e-mail clients and CMS marketing automation systems. Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator Axure, Invision or other prototyping software. Working knowledge of designing email templates for CRM like MSDynamics or similar platform. Knowledge of working with organizations running a CMS, preferably Cascade. Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and scheduling platforms such as Hootsuite. Knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Web Analytics in platforms such as Google Analytics(GA4) as well as digital advertising
